The Old East Slavic Corpus has been expanded with 129 thematic clusters of extratexts in East Slavic manuscripts of the 12th–14th centuries, totaling more than 230 entries and 5,000 words. The update takes into account recent linguistic publications.

Thematic metadata annotation makes it possible to select separate subcorpora of prayers, everyday notes, or literary miniatures. The corpus contains 200 “new” Old East Slavic lexemes, including the ancestors of such familiar words as крючок ‘hook’, любитель ‘amateur; lover’, мешать ‘interfere; mix’, связать ‘connect’, непременный ‘unchangeable; inevitable’, горский ‘mountain-related’, снова ‘again’, and грубо ‘roughly’.
