The Russian National Corpus is a useful resource for teaching humanities: the Russian language, literature and history. It helps build functional literacy, boosts interest in Russian language and linguistics, makes one understand more the history of the language and instills the culture of using reference resources. Students can try themselves in the role of researchers: write a word definition after studying its usage, see how the meaning of a word changes over several years, predict the spelling of new words.
